Robert Ireland, Jr.
Robert was born in Belfast in January 1809. He trained to become a coppersmith, then moved to America in December 1829 with his older brother William.
Robert married Sophia Elizabeth Morgan in Cincinnati, OH on 20 May 1837. An extensive biography of "Sophy" Morgan makes
fascinating reading.
Robert and Sophy had seven sons and one daughter, all born in the Cincinnati area; two of their sons died as infants.
