How to Save $10 to $20 on an AncestryDNA Test
Like other testing companies, AncestryDNA holds sales on their DNA tests several times a year.
They sometimes reduce their test price from $99 to $79 - and once or twice a year to even lower.
However, there's a way that you can save $10 to $20 on the test price at any time.
AncestryDNA Pricing Structure
As of May 2018, AncestryDNA normally charges $99 per test in the U.S. + $89 each for any additional tests ordered at the same time.
They add a shipping fee of $9.95 for the first test, plus $4.95 for any additional tests sent to the same address.
AncestryDNA often waives the first shipping charge to people who enter code FREESHIPDNA.
Don't expect to always get this extra discount, but it's usually available except during sale periods.
AncestryDNA Referral Program
AncestryDNA offers a $10 discount to anyone referred by a past AncestryDNA customer.
If you have a known relative who has taken the test, ask them for a referral link.
You'll receive a $10 discount, and they'll receive an Amazon gift card for $10.
My AncestryDNA Referral Link
My goal is to get as many people tested as possible, not to claim an Amazon gift card.
If you have a known friend or relative who can provide you with a referral, please use them.
If not, I'd appreciate it if you'd use my referral link; it's a win for both of us.
These referral links expire after a certain amount of time. Contact me for a newer link if this one doesn't work.
These two steps will always reduce your price from $99 + $9.95 shipping to $89 + $9.95 - and often to just $89 (free shipping).
Related to Me?
If you're related to me and don't have an Ancestry tree of your own, you'll learn far more about your genealogy if you allow me
(or another relative) to link your AncestryDNA test results to my/their existing Ancestry tree.
